Meditation for Teenagers

Ongoing classes and youth club

Living Wisdom High School hosts ongoing meditation classes and a youth group which are open to all teenagers (from any school).

Classes are taught by the High School staff and other volunteers. All the instructors are long-term meditators and teachers who have worked with young people for many years. Nonsectarian methods have been adapted for teenagers. They include, but go beyond mindfulness, using breathwork, inner focus, conscious relaxation and other techniques.

Meditation for Teenagers, age 13 to 19

This 2-session class is offered on Sunday nights at Living Wisdom High School, room K5 at the Cubberly Center, 4000 Middlefield Road, Palo Alto CA. It is for teenagers only (sorry no parental observation).

Space is limited, so confirmed reservations are required.
Suggested donation of $40.

Next class series:
First class, November 18 6:00pm to 6:45pm
Second class, December 2nd, 6:00pm to 6:45pm.

Attendees of these classes are invited to stay after and join in with the Inner Adventurers Club meeting starting at 7pm.  Attendees can leave during the 8pm break, if staying until 8:30pm is too late.

Inner Adventurers Youth Club

This club meets about twice a month on Sunday nights for teens who have taken the meditation class. Club activities include: meditation together, inner reflection exercises, games, socializing, snacks, … There is no charge, but donations are most appreciated.

Meditation for Families, parents and children aged 9 to 12 together

A integrated family meditation practice can become a strong bonding activity. We offer tips for making meditation practice an enjoyable, deepening time together.

This class series is under development, we probably will offer classes early next year. Please email us if you are interested. We will get back to you when the first series is offered.

Many studies have shown how meditation helps alleviate stress, increase happiness, increase kindness, improve grades, concentration and athletic performance. Please share information on these classes with other parents and teenagers, it could help improve their lives.
